Academic Pathway for Internationally Educated Nurses Graduate Certificate
Description
NOTE: THIS PROGRAM IS NOT AVAILABLE FULLY ONLINE
Our Academic Pathway for Internationally Educated Nurses (IEN) Graduate Certificate is designed to enable IEN wanting to practice as registered nurses (RN) in Ontario to meet the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) requirements for safe practice and language fluency and to enable IEN wanting to practice as registered practical nurses (RPN) in Ontario to meet the CNO requirements for safe practice, language fluency, and education and competency gaps. For important information on becoming a nurse in Ontario, visit the Become a Nurse web page on the CNO website.
Note: If you complete this graduate certificate but require a degree to enter into practice, you must apply to a post-RN degree program at an accredited institution.
Completion Details:
Your letter of acceptance will include a personal academic plan that has been developed for you (which will contain the list of courses you will be required to complete for the certificate). The timeline for completing the certificate is individualized based on your specific needs. Courses are grouped into clusters. You can take more than one course at the same time from a cluster, but you must complete the entire cluster before you can move on to the next cluster. Non-cluster courses can be taken at any time during the program. This graduate certificate is offered in a flexible format: courses may be offered during the day, on weekends or during the evening and may be available through in-class, online or hybrid deliveries. Once you have completed the certificate requirements, you will be eligible to request two certificates: our Academic Pathway for Internationally Educated Nurses (IEN) Graduate Certificate and our Interprofessional Collaborative Care Certificate.
