Understanding Economics

Description

The lower level liberal studies course introduces the economic way of thinking. At a microeconomic level students learn how to analyze markets under different structures such as perfect competition and monopoly. At a macroeconomic level students learn how to analyze how the Canadian economy works and how the major problems of unemployment and inflation can be dealt with. Other topics covered are fiscal and monetary policy and the overall role of government in the economy.
