Intro to Learning Disabilities
Description
In this course, students will learn about the history and current definition of, "learning disability" and explore the many types and facets of learning disabilities, and their impact on social, emotional, and academic life. Students will have the opportunity to expand their current understandings of assessments and how psycho-educational reports are used to create learning plans for academic settings. Students will reflect on the narrative accounts of students and adults living with learning disabilities and will use these stories of experience to reflect upon and challenge personal views. Legal foundations and professional standards as they pertain to learning disabilities will also be explored.
