Fundamentals of Lighting

In this course, students will be introduced to the many applications of lighting and to trends and styles for various decor in order to determine minimum lighting requirements in various rooms of the home. We will identify the diverse options available (such as florescent, track, halogen and incandescent) and their appropriate uses in relation to room requirements, style and client needs. Students examine and discuss a wide variety of accessories and their contributions to decor, including what works in specific situations and how much is ‘too much.’ A variety of assignments will require students to design and demonstrate the complexities of lighting and accessories.
