Field Experience 1 - Personal Support Worker Practice 1
Description
This course prepares the students for their Long Term Care (PSW 167) and Community (PSW 168) Practicums. Students will also have the opportunity to practice and demonstrate skills from the theory classes PSW 151, PSW 152, PSW 154 and PSW 159 in a controlled supervised lab environment. Skills include infection control, bed making, hygiene care, activities of daily living, toileting, catheter and condom care, ostomy care, specimen collection, mobility, communication, vital signs, skin and wound care, feeding, and documentation.
