Cannabis Retail and Wholesale Operations
Description
This course will introduce students to the business of cannabis. Focus will be placed on the basics of cannabis retail, starting with the retail requirements that fall under federal and provincial cannabis legislation. Student will learn about starting and operating a licensed cannabis dispensary, the various roles of licensed cannabis store employees (retail operators/managers, customer service experts, also known as budtenders), the standards of cannabis customer service, and the types of products available for sale (seeds, dried flowers, capsules, oils, accessories). The course will also review the latest cannabis legalization, Cannabis 2.0, the approval for sale of edibles, beverages, concentrates and topicals, and the effect this legalization is having on the cannabis retail industry.
