The Lambton College Health, Safety & Environmental Systems, Board of Governors certificate provides students the opportunity to learn in-demand skills in the growing field of occupational (workplace) health and safety (OHS). This fully online, competency-based program is developed for a range of learners from mid-level managers to front-line workers in every industry and sector. It aims to provide students with the skills to create and communicate their plans effectively to all levels of employees. As well, the program provides a pathway to becoming an established Occupational Health and Safety professional.
This unique partnership with the University of Fredericton School of Occupational Health & Safety, offers students a curriculum that is entirely online, is self-paced to fit your learning schedule and is mapped to various frameworks, blueprints, and body of knowledge documents, using the International Network of Safety and Health Professional Organizations Global Framework as the foundation.
The curriculum aligns with many external designation bodies, including the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health, and materials based on blueprints from the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP), the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) and the Australian Institute of Safety and Health (AISH).
Due to the fully online, competency-based structure of this offering, course facilitators are secured globally. As well, the program has a clear pathway to a fully online diploma. Lambton College graduates will receive both a Lambton College Board of Governors certificate and a University of Fredericton Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety.
Because this program is designed as competency-based, progress through the program can be at any time of day - from home, work or even on the road. The program can be completed full-time in as little as 11 months, as this unique online education experience offers flexibility unknown to the traditional classroom model, allowing students to study without making concessions.
Although this program offers monthly start dates, you will have to apply to the term associated with your preferred start date (January, September, and May) and then contact the Office of the Registrar to indicate which month you would like to begin the program.
Note: Check with the institution regarding start/end dates, prices, and delivery method. These may vary according to program, section, and/or semester.
