This Board of Governors certificate will provide you with the theoretical and practical knowledge using simulated case studies to prepare you for a future in medical transcription. This program has several prerequisites. Students are advised that each transcription course will require in excess of eight hours of work per week. These changes are being made to better prepare students for the workload later in the certificate and to help the student develop the highest level transcription skills that are required in the industry. A total of 14 courses are required to obtain this certificate.

Admission RequirementsO.S.S.D. or equivalent with: Typing Speed Students are required to have a typing speed of 30 wpm. Students who are interested in increasing their net typing speed and accuracy can take CPT-1133 Keyboarding for Computers.Applications for this program are not accepted through ontariocolleges.ca.Mature Student Assessment for this program is available in the subject of English for the purpose of demonstrating proficiency in this required admission subject.
