Introduction to Project Management

Description

This certificate is designed for those just venturing into the complex field of project management. It will provide you with the basic tools and techniques you need to plan, implement, control and close any type of project and increase the probability of it's successful completion.

It also includes essential information that will help you prepare for the Project Management Professional (PMP) and the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) exams offered by the Project Management Institute (PMI).

Certificate requirements

Complete the following courses:
  • High Speed Project Management
  • Project Management Applications
  • Project Management Fundamentals
  • Total Quality Fundamentals
We suggest you take Project Management Fundamentals first, and Project Management Applications second.

Note: All courses must be taken through Professional Development at the University of Waterloo in order to be eligible for the certificate from Professional Development.

Each course is six weeks long, followed by a two-week period to complete the final exam (online, open book) and you are not required to be online at any specific time. Lessons are released on Wednesdays and Fridays of each week. For planning purposes we suggest setting aside two hour per lesson as a starting point.

To register, click the course links above and select a start date. Instructions on how to access your course will be emailed to you immediately after registration. It is best practice to enrol for no more than two courses with the same start date to achieve the highest learning outcome.
