Program Overview
In Humber's Health Sector Regulatory Compliance graduate certificate, you will develop the knowledge and skills necessary to audit product development, manufacturing and supply chain processes. Delivered in a hybrid format (combining online and in-class training), this program helps students determine facility operational compliance compared to regulations and standards to minimize health and business risks.
Students will demonstrate core competencies required of compliance staff who monitor the quality and safety of various products and business processes including, but not limited to, pharmaceuticals; medical devices; biological and genetic therapies; natural health, agriculture, and food products; cosmetics and toiletries; and cannabis products.
Program Delivery: This three-consecutive-semester program starts in January, and classes continue throughout the summer semester. Courses are offered via a blend of both self-directed online modules and synchronous online classes. A work placement occurs in Semester 3 and is in-person.
This program is not available to international applicants.
Student-Centric Program Design and Industry Expertise
The Health Sector Regulatory Compliance Certificate program at Humber is designed and developed so that it can be delivered online with a student-centric framework with high efficiency during the first two semesters of the program. Experts deliver the courses sharing their expertise and experience with students during lessons. Subsequently, learning is extensively applied through hands-on experiences during the third semester of 450 hours of field experience. Fundamental skills are taught, developed, and reinforced throughout this one-year comprehensive program. Admission Requirements
Applicants must meet all the requirements below in order to meet minimum program eligibility. Meeting minimum eligibility requirements does not guarantee an offer of admission. Admission decisions will be available via MyHumber, or by email and mail. Admission decisions will not be released by phone.
Admission selection is based on the following 3 requirements:
1. Academic
To be eligible for admission, you must possess the following:
- Bachelor's degree, advanced diploma, diploma or equivalent in a health or science related field
Admission to this program is a competitive process and preference is given to students with a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in health science, pharmacy, some area in life sciences or a related field.

This program will help you gain opportunities in departments within healthcare and food product-manufacturing industries, government agencies or private/ public organizations. Graduates will become part of emerging fields such as cannabis, new pharmaceutical technologies, and medical equipment or medical service companies that are in need of new legislation and compliance training. Studies in risk management, supply chain management, and ethics will equip students with the skills needed in this ever-changing industry.
Work Placement
Following two academic semesters, students complete a three-month (450 hours) paid or unpaid work placement in which students apply and integrate theoretical knowledge and skills into real-world work settings. Students complement their learning in their placement, and assessments are carried out by assigned supervisors at the placement site.
While Humber does assist students' in finding their placements by working with industry partners and identifying openings, students are responsible for finding their own work placement that is aligned with the learning outcomes of the program. Students are encouraged to find a placement in their area of interest such as pharmaceuticals, medical devices, natural health and food products, cosmetics, or cannabis.
