Certificate in Gerontology (ALSO OFFERED ONLINE)

Description

The Gerontology program studies old age and the aging process. The purpose is to increase knowledge about old age and to improve the quality of life for seniors. The study of aging has worldwide significance in light of increasing life expectancy and the greying of baby boomers in the industrial nations. With Canada's population aging faster than those in most Western countries, working with seniors will become more common in all career fields in the near future and will create new opportunities for careers in gerontology.
