Virtual Production: Unreal Engine Onset Technician

Description

Are you interested in being able to use the latest cutting-edge technologies in Virtual Production to develop your skills as an Unreal Engine On-Set Technician? An Unreal Engine (UE) On-Set Technician blends physical sets with digital assets, landscapes, and environments for high-quality virtual production films. In this course, you will build a foundation of experience using real-time technologies to understand and apply how game engines can be used to conduct virtual production. By integrating camera tracking and LED walls with real-time assets, you will learn how a UE On-Set Technician can support the stage operation team to achieve In-Camera Visual Effects (ICVFX). You will prepare projects for ICVFX using switchboard and you will learn about LED hardware and configuration of virtual production solutions. You will get hands-on experience with ensuring virtual sets are orientated properly and functioning as expected, and you will learn about lighting, materials, and the blending of the virtual scenes with real set pieces that would intersect with an LED wall. This course, in combination with the Virtual Production Introductory Concepts and the Collaboration and Leadership courses will prepare you with entry-level competencies for the role of Technical Artist or Operational Technician on virtual production sound stages.
