The Vietnam War
Description
The Second Indochina War from 1954 to 1975 was one of three wars involving France, the United States, and China. As a hot war within a larger Cold War, this conflict divided the international community, destroyed presidencies, galvanized protests, and killed almost 1.5 million people. In the U.S., it is known as the Vietnam War. In Vietnam, it is the American War. In this course taught by both an American and a European specialist, students will explore the geopolitical, social, economic, military, and racial aspects of this conflict in both lecture and seminar discussion.
