Socioeconomics of Regulation Design
Description
Changes to regulations often have far-reaching consequences for all stakeholders. Students examine the role of relevant risk-management and socioeconomic principles in the regulatory process. Using case studies, students analyze the impacts of regulatory changes, use cost-benefit analysis and propose impact-mitigating strategies. Working independently and in groups, students examine Regulatory Impact Analysis Statements (RIAS) and Strategic Environmental Assessments (SEA).
