Description

This course will focus on the organizational principles associated with the successful operation of special events such as weddings, meetings, conferences, trade shows and festivals. Emphasis will be placed on technical and non-technical aspects such as agenda design, venue selection, site inspections, site analysis, sound, lighting, staging, and security. Students will also learn about operations management which includes planning, controlling, special permits, understanding bylaws and employee health and safety to ensure a successful event. Students will also have the opportunity to explore industry certificates.
