Principles of Management
Description
Today's managers must perform the functions of planning, organizing, leading and controlling within the context and constraints of environmental and social pressures and demands. Students will examine the role of the manager and the skills and techniques needed to achieve organizational objectives through the management of people, money, materials and time. Students will be required to demonstrate an understanding of the key principles and functions of management and apply these skills in contemporary business situations. Note: If students are in the Nursing Management program 07481, they are exempt from the prerequisite BMGT 100 Introduction to Business. Please note that students who choose to take an online section of this course must write the final exam in person, at either the Humber North or Lakeshore campus, or, if located more than 100km from the campus, through an approved proctoring facility. Any costs associated with this are the sole responsibility of the student.
