Oral Pathology
Description
This theory course is designed to provide the Dental Hygiene student with the basic principles relating to pathological processes with emphasis on diseases that manifest themselves in or on the head, face, neck and oral cavity. An in-depth study of oral pathologies, their clinical, radiographic, histological and immunological features, etiology, classification, body response, and appropriate management is stressed. Highlights include discussion of oral abnormalities, pulp and peri-apical conditions, developmental and inflammatory cysts, oral mucous membrane pathologies, benign and malignant neoplasm and systemic malignancies and blood conditions.
