Occupational Health, Safety and Security
Description
This course provides students with an introduction to, and a basic awareness of various aspects of occupational health, safety and security paying particular attention to the construction industry. Topics covered will include common hazards, safe work practices and site safety protection, fall protection and emergency site procedures, labeling of hazardous materials and related legislation, safety audits and site safety trade meetings, construction housekeeping and first aid stations. The course is delivered using materials developed for the construction industry by the Infrastructure Health and Safety Association of Ontario, the Ministry of Labour, and the Workplace Safety Insurance Board.
