Nursing Practice Lab
Description
You will apply new learning to your current nursing knowledge, skills and judgement within the framework of the nursing process to develop safe and competent care plans for lab-based health scenarios. You will examine The College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) practice standards and guidelines, relevant legislation and best practice guidelines and research to develop approaches to evidence-based care. Hands-on practice is required through mandatory online and lab activities. You will collaborate with faculty and peers in a collegial and partnership model to learn the fundamental skills and competencies required for safe and ethical practice. Lab activities include conducting patient assessment and physical examination, utilizing critical thinking and inquiry skills, reporting and recording data, and application of procedural knowledge and skills in a systematic and safe manner.
Note: This course is restricted to students with CNO Letter of Assessment and/or Program Coordinator's approval.
