Nursery Production
Description
Nursery Production outlines the relevance and importance of the nursery industry within the Canadian landscape, North America and globally. As a foundation, this course outlines how nursery facilities are organized and what infrastructure, equipment and facilities are required to operate successfully. Examine the fundamental concepts and methods of nursery production for deciduous and coniferous trees, shrubs, and specialty crops. The course will focus on plant health, irrigation, fertilization, pruning, winter storage and shipping—the key elements to understanding the seasonal flow of nursery operations and preparing products for distribution and sale.
