Networking and Industry Relations

Description

This course will provide students with the opportunity to explore the event industry in more detail with practical experience networking with industry professionals. Students will make informal and formal business contacts and learn the technical aspects of the industry directly from leading experts. Students will also learn about industry associations including International Live Events Association (ILEA), Professional Conference Management Association (PCMA), Canadian Society of Professional Event Planners (CanSPEP), Meeting Professionals International (MPI), Festivals and Events Ontario (FEO) and Wedding Planners Institute of Canada (WPIC). Students will have the opportunity to complete information sessions with industry professionals. Ethics and moral courage will be discussed and how they affect people globally within the profession.
