Major Mental Disorders
Description
In this course, students learn to identify the most prevalent disorders that are seen in healthcare settings. A bio-psycho-social approach is used to explore the assessment and treatment of the major mental disorders, including schizophrenia, mood disorders, anxiety, and personality disorders. Exploring health and illness using a continuum model, students examine practical approaches to understanding and working with people living with mental illness, with a particular interest in supporting those receiving care for other health-related challenges.
