Introduction to Gerontology

This course is designed to introduce students to some general concepts related to ageing in Canadian Society. Individual factors related to the ageing process, as well as societal, policy, economic and legislative contributors will be discussed and their impacts on service delivery. The professional role that social service workers play in the lives of older Canadians will be explored.
