Gain an understanding of GIS fundamental concepts and terminology including the role of GIS in business government surveying and natural resources. Learn how to create and manipulate data using GIS. Examine the collection management analysis and presentation of spatial data concepts of database systems data modeling and digital mapping.Computer Software Requirements: Quantum GIS (QGIS) - free software (Works on Windows Macs and Linux) but all instructions and tutorials will be based on a Windows environment.
