Introduction to Book Design
Description
This course introduces the fundamentals of book design and current practices. Specific topics include designing for different readerships, matching visual structure to editorial structure, design needs of text-only and illustrated books, typesetting and legibility best practices, designing effective covers for print, ebooks and audiobooks, and workflow and cost considerations. All assignments are completed in Adobe InDesign; it is strongly recommended that learners complete CDPB212 or have a basic understanding of InDesign before taking this course
