Intermediate Painting Studio: Animals in Art
Description
This course is designed for the beginner or intermediate painter who would like to develop animal painting skills with acrylics. Course topics include a variety of techniques, such as, the basic shapes of animals, anatomy, skin and fur studies, eye studies, nose and mouth studies, background studies, as well as an exploration of animal movement. Students will explore individual expression while being guided through brushwork techniques, texture creation, compositional and conceptual decision-making, and colour choices. Studio work will also be supported by lectures and discussions about the representation of animals in painting around the world, from historic to contemporary practices, exploring different examples of content, techniques, and styles.
