Description

The advanced concepts critical care course focuses on advanced neuroscience and respiratory nursing concepts. It is designed to prepare registered nurses for critical care practice. Course objectives build on entry-to-practice knowledge, including the specialized care of clients with or at risk for developing nervous system or and/or respiratory dysfunction along the continuum of care. Upon successful completion, the students will start to develop critical reasoning skills to identify actual or potential life-threatening alterations in neurological and respiratory functions. Evidence-informed data will be utilized to develop client and family-centered nursing interventions. Learning Objectives are taken from the Canadian Association of Critical Care Nurses (CACCN) competency standards
