Description
The past and present circumstances of Indigenous communities in Canada are studied. Particular consideration is given to the analysis of the social consequences that have resulted from a long legacy of outside intervention in the self-determining powers of Indigenous collectives. This analysis is presented with a view towards creative restructuring of social service institutions along lines consistent with the objective of Indigenous governance.
