Holistic Practice
Description
This course will focus on addressing a young person's emotional, physical, mental, spiritual, and cultural needs. From a strengths-based perspective, this course will draw on the important connections and influences that youth experience within different life spaces. Students will gain an understanding of the importance of young people being at the centre of CYC work. In addition students will explore their own social location, strengths, and areas that shape who they are as a worker.
To do this, students will learn how to approach their work with a holistic framework that ensures interactions are based within an anti-oppressive, anti-racist, inclusive, culturally aware, and trauma-informed practice.
Note: Check with the institution regarding start/end dates, prices, and delivery method. These may vary according to program, section, and/or semester.
