Health Chemistry II
Description
CHEM 1260 is a continuation of CHEM 1160. The topics that are discussed and investigated in weekly lecture and laboratory sessions include solutions, acids and bases, introductory organic chemistry and the biochemistry to the major macromolecules such as carbohydrates, lipids and amino acids. Laboratory experiments and activities are an essential component of this course, as they promote further exploration and investigation into the chemical properties and reactions of substances outlined in this course. An emphasis is placed on making connections to uses and applications within the field of health science.
