Health Chemistry I
Description
In this course you will study general chemistry at an introductory level. It begins with activities related to measurement, conversions, and density. You then study the structure of atoms, their relationship to the periodic table, and the structure and properties of compounds. Applying concepts of the mole to solve for unknown quantities in chemical reactions will be emphasized. Completing the course you study energy, in relationship to the states of matter and the gas laws. Weekly
labs illustrate and reinforce the concepts from lecture. Where possible the course concepts will be related to the health sciences.
