Food Entrepreneurship
Description
Providing the tools, inspiration, and insight needed to develop the strategic components of a business plan, this course teaches students to think and act in an entrepreneurial manner. Mastery of these duplicable skills is essential for would-be entrepreneurs and is also highly valued by many modern employers. Over the course of the term, students will workshop a real or hypothetical food business idea to assess its feasibility. During the course, students will develop the key components of a business plan and become able to describe the competition, target customer, and financial expectations for their concept. At a final presentation, each student will reveal the results of their work by telling the class if their idea has proven to be a "Go" or "No Go" business idea. At the end of this course, students will have a business plan that can be used to create their own business.
