Environmental Management Systems and Audits

This course will examine environmental management systems in compliance with the environmental laws and regulations. The course will introduce students to  the concept of environmental management systems in reducing overall environmental impacts within industry and business operations. Provides an overview of the purpose of an EMS model, how companies adopt/implement them and overall framework of EMS models. Focus on specific EMS models, including the ISO 14001 systems and the Auditing process in terms of using the audit as a management tool for environmental performance.
