English in the Workplace
Description
ENG1009 is designed for students who will be employed in a predominantly oral communication-based workplace. Activities in this course will focus on role-playing professional scenarios with employers, colleagues, and clients in a variety of settings thus further developing students’ spoken language skills. Through the development of reading and listening skills, students will demonstrate their comprehension of workplace material presented in both oral and written forms. Writing workplace correspondence and communications and preparing a cover letter and resume will provide students with the necessary skills for future success.
