Culture and Digital Technologies
Description
What is culture and how does it intersect with digital technology? This core question will guide students’ exploration of the ways that digital technologies intersect with contemporary cultural industries, such as film, television, music, and social media, and cultural venues, such as museums and libraries. Tied into this exploration is understanding the impact of culture and digital technology on a variety of educational contexts through the development of media literacy. Students will also have opportunities to look at these interconnections through the lens of equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI), as they critically interrogate cultural artifacts and their relationships to digital technologies.
