Counselling Skills
Description
In this course, students are introduced to evidence-based clinical competencies that shape effective counselling practices for working with people with mental health challenges. Students learn core skills for engaging, collaborating with and guiding clients/patients towards enhanced therapeutic outcomes. Students hone the intentional communication skills necessary for work in the diverse and challenging contexts of mental health service delivery, and explore the ethical principles that guide and the practice issues that emerge in clinical counselling.
