Community Nursing Theory

This course will provide an overview of community health nursing in Canada. Emphasis will be placed on examination of the community health nurse’s role in relation to individuals, families, groups, and communities. Students will have opportunities to develop skill in health promotion strategies, community-based assessment and program planning and evaluation. Emphasis will be placed on analyzing the impact of socioeconomic factors, developmental level, gender and culture on health.
