Community and Social Services
Description
This course explores the network of community social service agencies that exist and how they link to the Criminal Justice System. Students learn to identify the community service systems, explain how they operate and how persons in need benefit from these services. Through a combination of lectures, exercises, independent learning, and presentations, students gain awareness of local community resources and the role of social service agencies in Canadian society. TEXTBOOK REQUIRED. 30 hours.
