Child Development
Description
In Child and Youth Care practice, it is necessary to be aware of the continuum of typical development in order to better assess and respond to strengths and needs of children, including complex responses impacted by developmental, physical, emotional, social and mental health challenges in order to promote positive change.
This course will examine developmental and psychological domains in children (cognitive, physical, emotional, and social). Through a combination of coursework, learning activities and raising a virtual child, students will explore typical development using both theory and application.
