The Canadian Securities Course Part 1 includes:
The Canadian securities industry and the regulatory environment
Market and economic events impacting investment performance
Understanding and analyzing corporate financial statements
Financial instruments: fixed income, equities, managed products, structured products, fee-based accounts, and derivatives
Please note that success at Centennial does not mean the
the student has passed the Canadian Securities Course. This will only occur when all criteria of the CSC Industry have been met. Students must successfully complete two CSC Industry Exams within defined time limits. A minimum grade of 60% is required on each exam and the overall course grade is a simple average of the results obtained for each exam. CSC Exam #1 covers Volume 1 of the course material, while CSC Exam #2 covers Volume 2 of the course material.
Registration at the Canadian Securities Institute is required and provides all textbook materials and practice questions. You will register at www.csi.ca and the fee is approximately $487 for each of parts 1 & 2.
