Applied Statistics in Social Sciences
Description
This course will introduce students to the statistical methods used to conduct quantitative research. Topics discussed include displaying and describing data, the normal curve, probability, statistical inference, and hypothesis tests with applications in the child development and educational fields. A major focus is on why and when statistical methods are used as well as interpreting the results of statistical analyses. Students will learn basic computational methods as well as the use of statistical software for analyzing data.
